A restraining order (also called a \u201cprotective order\u201d) is a court order that can protect someone from being physically or sexually abused, threatened, stalked, or harassed. A restraining order can include personal conduct orders, stay-away orders, and\/or residence exclusion (\u201ckick-out\u201d or \u201cmove-out\u201d) orders. The person getting the restraining order is called the \u201cprotected person.\u201d The person the restraining order is against is the \u201crestrained person.\u201d Sometimes, restraining orders include other \u201cprotected persons\u201d like family or household members of the protected person.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Being served with a Restraining Order is a serious matter. The consequences to you can be severe.
